Top is Done

The top is done.  It is called a true lovers knot.  It's kind of a Celtic knot style.  Now I have been thinking on it and have NO ideas of how to quilt it.  So...H-E-L-P!!  I need some ideas...soon.  I thought this could be a pillow, but it is too big, so a wall hanging then. Let me know what ya'll think.  Thanks.

  1. I love this! I am not a quilter, so I don't have great ideas on the top of my mind. I guess I would do very small stippling on the cloud fabric and nothing on the yellow so that it would stand out. Stippling is always my go-to quilt stitch.

  2. Lovely!! What a cool, pieced knot! Well, I've not been quilting long. Maybe contrast the pieces: do swirls or clouds in the cloud fabric and then do some linear quilting in the yellow. The possibilities are endless.

Gee - I need to get mine started. Laura Wasilewski spoke to our guild last month and I have a new inspiration/technique.

  3. Beautiful piece! I think it would look great quilted around the cloud shapes and nothing on the yellow.

I know what I'm going to do for the piece but I might not have to start it until early in December. I don't know how much I can say about my inspiration without giving the story away. Or has everyone read it by now? It's a relatively easy read if you have the time.

  5. How special. I would do a Celtic knot pattern in the middle square and then echo quilt it out to the sides.

  6. I love it! Flowing lines would look great to me. Kind of wave like.

  7. It looks beautiful, I would do a small stippling in the yellow, I'm not sure how big it is but could you make it into a BIG lounging pillow?
